Tapping Into The Power Of Your Subconscious

I noticed a request for a Hub about how to access the subconcious mind.

As it turns out, I have written quite a few Hubs about accessing your subconscious mind!

This is a bit of a Hubography - I have a Mind Power group, and I also have a few relevant Hubs as orphans.

Think And Grow Rich Is The Secret is the starting point for my Mind Power series, which I still add to from time to time - check the RSS feed list at the bottom to see if I have written more after publishing this Hub. You can use the navigation bar at the bottom of those Hubs to work your way through the series.

Think And Grow Rich Is The Secret

Think And Grow Rich, The Secret, The Law Of Attraction, Unlimited Power, prayer circles, creative visualisation, and even traditional witchcraft all have one thing in common - they tap in to the power of the human subconscious.

... Imagine waking up one day at the wheel of a high-powered sports car - and you never learned to drive. You don't know what the dials mean, you don't know how to interpret the flood of images you see through the windscreen, and in fact it takes you a while to work out that you are in a moving object. Let alone that you are IN a moving object. Many of us go our entire lifetimes thinking we ARE the moving object ...

How To Get What You Want In Life

When you hear yet another guru saying "everything you have in your life is your own creation," do you roll your eyes?

... There is a very fine line between choosing an attitude of "I am at cause" versus taking on the defeatist belief "It's all my fault". And it's a line not well drawn by most people.

It is important to understand how cause and effect work in the realm of perception, intention, and manifesting, so that you can escape from resentment or self-blame, and move into a position of strength ...

Surrender

Think and Grow Rich, The Secret, The Law Of Attraction, creative visualisation, affirmations, and prayer are all pointing at ways for an individual to draw on Universal power.

The process of drawing on this immense reservoir of power begins with surrender ...

Manifesting - The Power To Create

The traditional education system does not teach kids that they are the creators of their realities, the authors of their own lives. It doesn't teach them the cherish their uniqueness, to bring forth the flowering of their individual contribution to the shared Universal endeavour of creation.

Those of us who grew up in the traditional education system learned, in fact, lessons which were almost diametrically opposed to that.

We learned that it is more important to be the same as everyone else than it is to be happy ...

The Spiritual Journey

The Hero's Journey in literature and the Spiritual Journey in religion tap in to deep psychological processes in our subconscious, and represent them for us in symbolic terms, or archetypes.

A classic example of a story embodying the Hero's Journey is Star Wars (the first movie, subtitled Episode 4).

Our Hero is orphaned (the journey always begins with being small and alone in a harsh world). He discovers that he has, as his birthright, immense power - but he does not know how to access or control it ...

Finding One's Self - Recovery From Dissociation

Sufferers of mild, chronic dissociation have an exaggerated mind/body split - they are only conscious of their intellect, and the occasional very strong emotion. The constant, multicolored, three-dimensional feeling world is almost completely suppressed to a subconscious level.

They usually don't know when they are angry, sad, or hurt. Not consciously.

The path to integration requires a deep re-connection with the non-rational, non-linear, physical, sensual, child-like subconscious mind ...

Hi Inspirepub,

What a wonderful hub. I'm a reader and my did you give me lots of resources to check out. I did noticed others writing on subconscious, but I was looking more for 1,2, 3 tips to get a fast track so I didn't have to read. Your hub is inspiring and informative.

I have The Secret DVD. I think I will watch that again. Last week I read 101 Ways to Jump Start Your Intuition by John Holland. This week I'm reading How to Write While You Sleep by Elizabeth Ross and there are exercises that will help develop your subconscious, but I'm only on the first chapter. Also, I'm reading You Own the Power by Rosemary Altea. So with your information I'm going to be busy reading.

I believe that everything I have in my life is my own creation," I don't roll my eyes when I hear that statement. I also believe when the student is ready the teacher will appear. So, I do plan on checking out your series...teacher.

Your hub lets me know that I'm on the right track, because I pray, teach on Visualization, use affirmations, and own some of the books that you suggested.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm so glad to hear that, Louise!

I found "The Artist's Way" very useful, too.

Keep me posted on your progress!

surrender...I know what you mean, it's wierd this way. I know that you have said, that you are not 100% sure there is a God, but 99.9 is good enough, LOL.

More mysterious than tapping into the subconscious is manifesting it outwards. Gosh darn! i love you Jenny. I always feel like I look and sound like a dork, but something I can't get past is, that your spirit feels well connected with mine, and there is something very, almost terrifyingly wonderful going on.

It is also a remarkable feeling to know where your true sisters and brothers are, it's like a missing family set accross all reaches of the Earth.

Well, what overwhelming feedback, Sandra!

We are all connected, deep down - it's just that not many people spend enough time deep down in themselves to be able to feel the resonance with others.

You can tell the people who do - they have a sort of calm certainty combined with an amused tolerance for the absurdities of this life. And they resonate with one another, even if they belong to hugely different religions, cultures, age groups, and political systems.

Great Hub. You can use your subconcious mind not only for creation but also for getting answers to day to day issues in your life. It works!

Hi Jenny, You can't wrong with a man who spent over 20 years studying the 500 most successful people of his time. Napoleon Hill's secrets to success in "Think and Grow Rich" are timeless. A great summary of your great hubs.

Thanks, Jim. And the sequel - Masterkey to Riches - was even better in documenting how those succesful men tapped into their subconscious minds.

informative article, but at the same time, too much emphasis on "We are the creators...yada yada.."

The power of the subconscious mind is no doubt profound, but at the same time, we need to realize that we CANNOT create EVERYTHING we want, that's setting yourself for a huge disappointment. What you state here is mostly philosophical stuff. Maybe it's just me...but I like to focus on those parts of the subconscious mind which help people grow intellectually rather than propagate the idea that we are "asters of our own destiny".

Max.

P.S. b.t.w...since when did research into the discipline of the mind become another religion or a spiritual path. Can't we just keep these things purly scientific..?

Thanks for the comment, Max.

I don't see spirituality as unscientific - but then, I am not using the word to refer to anything religious. I use "spiritual" to refer to the experience people have when they are consciously aware of their non-rational self, which seems vast and powerful in comparison with their limited verbal, logical self.

Great hub. I love this subject very much. And you have it short by straight to the point. It will take me some time to go through every link you have up there.

But thanks for your write up.
